Job Description
- Establish and maintain a classroom culture of safety, strong work ethic, and respect.
- Implement daily lesson plans to teach skills required in the Medical Assisting field.
- Provide immediate supervision to all students to ensure they safely and effectively operate the wide range of Medical Assisting tools and equipment.
- Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and comprehension.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their learning and development.
- Administer oral, written, or performance tests to measure progress and to evaluate training effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and parents.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in communication with students, colleagues, staff, and administrators
Qualified applicants must possess a Chapter 74 Medical Assisting Teaching license from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or meet the criteria for licensure, which include:
- Passing score on each test (written test, performance test) in medical assisting
- Current national certification as a medical assistant or medical assistant/secretary
- Four years of full-time employment experience directly related to medical assisting
- Associate degree or higher degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught.
- Achieve a passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test (VTLST).
